A Life Defined by Determination, Strength, and Love.

Rudy’s Journey
Born in San Jose, California, on August 6, 2006, Rudy "Jr." Zevallos moved to Missouri in 2013, where he built a remarkable life filled with purpose, achievement, and love. By 2020, his family had settled in Lebanon, and Jr. began making his mark as a student, athlete, and friend at Lebanon High School.
At 18 years old, Jr. was a senior ready to graduate early and begin the next chapter of his life as a Marine, following in the footsteps of his father. Sworn into the Marine Corps in September 2024, Jr. embodied the values of dedication, resilience, and self-improvement that inspired everyone who knew him.
A Life of Drive and Growth
Rudy was naturally competitive, always striving to break his own records and conquer new challenges. Whether on the field, in the gym, or in his personal life, Jr. gave his all. He found fulfillment in pushing himself physically and mentally, journaling daily about topics like personal growth, financial wisdom, and spiritual reflection. His commitment to fitness was unparalleled, but his drive extended far beyond the gym. Rudy invested in relationships, his faith, and his future, embodying a mindset of constant improvement and purpose.
Honoring Rudy’s Legacy
On October 5, 2024, Rudy tragically passed away after crossing the finish line of the Frog Hill Half Marathon in Waynesville, Mo. His goal was to complete it in under two hours, and he achieved it in 1 hour 57 minutes and 27 seconds—an accomplishment that reflects his unyielding determination.
Rudy’s life serves as a testament to the power of hard work, faith, and love. He was a beloved son, brother, friend, and future Marine, whose memory continues to inspire us all. Through the Run Like Rudy 5K, we honor his legacy by embracing his values of perseverance, dedication, and community.
